SymbioticMedia.ou.edu is a website that was deployed for (a now extinct) new media program at Oklahoma Univeristy. The site was completed in standard html, css and javascript.

The Symbiotic Media Program was an inter-disciplinary program where artists, engineers, scientists and scholars gather to investigate the dynamic interplay of humans, biology and technologies. Students studied a range of things from deign, to sound, to enginnering, to art, to linguistics and everything in between.

As for the site itself, there were a a small variety of technologies used. The intro movie was completed in Flash with original sound design. The navigation menu was completed with basic javascript. The contact form is powered by php.

From a design perspective, the goal was to create a site that took a number of elements fomr various disciplinary fields and combine them in a homogenous way that worked aesthetically. I combined elements of art, biology, engineering, mathematics adn sound to create an animated banner that suggested the overriding theme of the program.

The site is incomplete, of course. The program got canned.
